In Melatonin, the gameplay occurs at night, when you are dreaming. When you’re asleep, your subconscious mind takes control of your body, and you have intense, dream-like experiences that you don't recall when you wake up. The game’s protagonist is a young character going through some terrible times. They can't get to sleep because their anxious, frightening thoughts keep her awake.

The more you play the game, the more you’ll learn about their background and aspirations. Without frightening overlays or interfaces, it employs animations and aural cues to keep you on pace. Play in perfect harmony as you make your way through a dazzling array of surreal worlds bursting with inventive puzzles, beautiful artwork, a lively soundtrack, and over 20 levels across five chapters for you to go through.

The game's hand-drawn graphic design is vibrant and intricate, and the music was composed to complement the art and mechanics. You can unlock hard mode if you want to test your rhythm, as there is a level editor. The only downside to this game is that some of the songs are very similar to each other, which can be a bit boring for some players.

A great rhythm game

Despite the fact that Melatonin has some similar songs to each other and can make it a bit boring the more you play it, it is still a great rhythm game nonetheless. It has great graphics, story, and animation, and the level design is superb as well. It is highly recommended for those who love playing rhythm games such as OSU.
